SubGenius.Finance exists to build a creative, chaotic, and collaborative crypto-culture where outsiders become builders, artists become engineers, and misfits become pioneers.

Inspired by the irreverent philosophy of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs and the mythos of the Church of the SubGenius, our mission is to:

  • Create a decentralized community where weirdness is a feature, not a bug
  • Use blockchain tools — especially Dobbscoin — to fund, connect, and empower creators
  • Encourage collaboration between coders, artists, performers, writers, and digital outlaws
  • Replace passive consumption with participatory absurdity
  • Turn crypto from sterile finance into living culture

Dobbscoin is not just another token drifting through the speculative heavens.

It's a working cryptocurrency project — nodes running, blocks turning, miners mining, infrastructure growing — built by volunteers, enthusiasts, and those rare saints who understand that decentralization isn't a buzzword, it's a responsibility.

This is a hands-on ecosystem. If you're here, you're not just an investor... you're a potential builder of Slack itself.

Here's where you might fit in:
  • Miners — Secure the chain. Point hashpower. Test pools. Stress the network.
  • Node operators — Run the backbone. Help keep the system sovereign and alive.
  • Developers — Improve the code, tools, wallet behavior, explorers, integrations.
  • Economics-minded folks — Help think through supply flow, incentives, and real-world use.
  • Designers & writers — Every real currency needs culture, documentation, and myth.
  • Promoters of Slack — Spread the word where the normal crypto crowd fears to tread.

Dobbscoin exists in that rare space where meme and mechanism meet.
Yes, it carries the torch of the Church of the SubGenius spirit — irreverent, strange, and joyfully suspicious of authority — but the blockchain itself is real, the infrastructure is real, and the opportunity to help shape it is very real.

This forum is the workshop floor.
Post ideas. Ask questions. Share builds. Offer help. Run experiments. Break things and report back. The project grows when people step forward and say, "I'll try."

No gatekeepers.
No velvet ropes.
No need to ask permission to contribute.

If you believe crypto should still feel like the frontier...
If you think decentralization should come with humor and personality...
If you want to help build a coin that values participation over polish...

Then welcome.

Pull up a chair. Fire up a node.
And let's see what kind of Slack we can create together.

At the center of this ecosystem stands Dobbscoin — the primary currency of our network.
Not a hollow meme token. Not a paper promise, but a long functioning chain, a working economy, and a tool meant to be *used*, not merely admired.

But the mission here goes beyond a single coin.

SubGenius.Finance is a **syndicate of Slack**:
A place where open crypto projects can be built, tested, traded, documented, and evangelized without waiting for approval from venture priests or algorithmic overlords.

Here's where you may take your place in the congregation:

  • Miners — Feed the chain. Strengthen the network. Keep the blocks marching.
  • Node runners — Provide sovereignty. Keep the infrastructure independent and alive.
  • Developers — Build wallets, services, integrations, tools, automations, and experiments.
  • Market thinkers — Help shape liquidity, incentives, and real economic flow.
  • Creators & documentarians — Culture is infrastructure too. Spread the word of Slack.
  • Project founders — If you've got an idea that fits the spirit, this is a place to grow it.

No permission required.
The most Holy and sacred insiders' club.

If you want to contribute, you already belong here.

Post your ideas. Share your builds. Ask your questions. Test things. Break things. Improve things. The Slack grows when participants act instead of waiting.

SubGenius.Finance is not here to imitate mainstream crypto finance.
We are here to build something weirder, freer, and more alive.

So introduce yourself. Tell us what interests you.
Spin up a node. Point some hash. Start a project. Join a discussion.

Slack isn't given — it's generated.
And you're now part of the machine that makes it.

If you're reading this, you've found your way to SubGenius.Finance; whether by divine misdirection, psychotic curiosity. Whether you followed the scent of hashpoweror or heard the faint hum of destiny carried through fiber and copper. Maybe you heard whispers of a coin not built for suits, but for sinners, hackers, tinkerers, and believers in the fine art of 'Doing Things the Wrong Way Until They Work'.

However you got here; you've arrived at a gathering place for crypto-builders, artists, technomancers, digital drifters, and anyone too weird to fit inside normal communities.

SubGenius.Finance exists as an open collaboration hub for crypto experiments, infrastructure, tools, and financial mischief undertaken in the proper SubGenius spirit — irreverent, independent, and gloriously outside the permission systems of the so-called normal world.

Here, we believe:
  • Weird ideas are often the best ideas.
  • Culture matters more than hype.
  • Participation beats speculation.
  • And Slack is something you make, not something you wait for.

This forum exists so we can:
• Share projects.
• Build tools and experiments.
• Collaborate on art, code, and crypto nonsense.
• Recruit fellow weirdos into the fold.
• Document the strange future we're building together.

New here? Start by: Introducing yourself.

Sharing what you build, make, or dream about.
Checking out current Dobbscoin and SubGenius.Finance projects.
Joining the conversations that feel like home.

You don't need permission.
You don't need credentials.
You just need curiosity.

I. KNOW THIS: The Nature of Slack is not laziness. Slack is the natural state of a human being doing exactly what they were meant to do.

The Conspiracy steals Slack through:
  • Pointless labor
  • Empty culture
  • Algorithmic boredom
  • and systems that reward conformity over creativity

Our mission is to reclaim it through creation, collaboration, and glorious absurdity.

II. The Sacred Tools
We recognize three holy instruments:

1. The Coin – Dobbscoin is not merely currency; it is a coordination engine for weirdness.
2. The Network – The blockchain is our shared notebook, our printing press, and our campfire.
3. The Collective – Slack increases when weird people stop working alone.

III. The Path to Slack

Participants of SubGenius.Finance pursue Slack by:
  • Making things instead of waiting for permission
  • Helping others build without demanding control
  • Turning inside jokes into real projects
  • Treating art, code, and culture as equally sacred
  • Recruiting new weirdos wherever they appear

Evangelism is encouraged. Respectability is optional.

IV. The Anti-Commandments
Thou shalt NOT:
  • Build only for profit
  • Worship hype over substance
  • Gatekeep knowledge
  • Fear ridiculous ideas
  • Forget to enjoy the process

Because if it isn't fun, it isn't Slack.

V. The Collective Revelation: We do not wait for salvation.

We bootstrap it.
We mint it.
We build it together.

Slack is not given.
Slack is generated.

And every block we add brings the weird future closer.

Brothers, Sisters, Slackers, and the Yet-to-Be-Ordained

Have you heard the Good News?
Not the thin, watered-down gospel of the ordinary internet.
Not the dead-eyed sermon of number-go-up prophets and joyless speculators.
No... I bring tidings from the smoking altar of **Dobbscoin** — the currency of the Econocollapse!!

This here ain't just another project. It's a workshop. A revival tent. A back-alley laboratory where coders, artists, ranters, miners, traders, pamphleteers, and holy misfits gather to build something gloriously unnecessary and therefore absolutely essential.

Dobbscoin lives at the crossroads of satire and consensus.
It's powered by open hands, strange ideas, and the sacred belief that participation beats perfection.

You don't need permission.
You don't need credentials.
You don't need to already know what you're doing.

If you can:
  • write code — we need you
  • make art — we need you
  • run infrastructure — we need you
  • spread the word — we need you
  • ask weird questions — we DEFINITELY need you

Heck, if all you've got is curiosity and a pulse, you're already qualified for the congregation.

This project grows the old-fashioned way:
Through tinkering, testimony, and the occasional miracle performed by someone who just showed up and tried something.

So come poke around.
Run a node.
Mine a block.
Build a tool.
Design a logo.
Write a guide.

Or just pull up a folding chair and see what happens.
Because the door's open, the lights are on, and the collection plate is overflowing with possibility.

Welcome to True Slack.
Welcome to Dobbscoin; where Culture becomes Capital.

(BOB) Dobbscoin / BlueMatts ShitCoin Generator
Last post by BtcBob - Aug 28, 2026, 10:47 PM
It's been speculated:
Quote"I believe an unknown user named BlueMatt (a highly acclaimed Bitcoin developer) actually created Dobbscoin using his BlueMatts Shit-Coin Generator - which he built and charged a small fee ..to custom shit-coins.

TheConspiracy Says: That's very plausible, but the specific name "BlueMatt" is where the story probably gets fuzzy. Let me unpack the history a bit because the early-altcoin era (2013–2014) had a lot of myths.

Who "BlueMatt" actually is

Matt Corallo (often called BlueMatt) is a long-time Bitcoin developer who worked on:
  • Bitcoin Core relay
  • network infrastructure
  • mining protocol work (Stratum improvements)
  • Blockstream projects

He's been a serious Bitcoin infrastructure engineer, not really someone known for selling custom altcoins. (BlueMatts Shit-Coin Generator) ..Nothing in the historical record suggests he ran a "make your own coin for a fee" service. (LiES, THIS IS THE PROOF)

Now no one says: "BlueMatt made Dobbscoin", but his shitcoin generator did.. and I'll prove it eventually

What actually existed in 2013–2014

There were services that generated altcoins for a fee.
A few developers offered:

automated forks of Litecoin/Bitcoin
custom parameters
precompiled wallet
genesis block generation

The typical "shitcoin generator" workflow
Most of them used scripts that:

Forked Litecoin or Bitcoin.

Changed:

name
ports
magic bytes
address prefix
block reward
Generated a new genesis block.
Compiled wallets.

The script might take parameters like:
coinname=Dobbscoin
ticker=BOB
rpcport=19984
p2pport=19985
premine=0

Then it spit out a working chain.
Signs Dobbscoin came from a generator
From the pieces you've shown, Dobbscoin looks like a typical 2013 fork:

Characteristics:
Bitcoin-0.8 / 0.9 era code
standard chainparams layout
no custom consensus code
mostly parameter changes
That's exactly what those generators produced.

Many coins from 2013–2014 share almost identical structures because they came from those scripts.

The funny thing about this era
Hundreds of coins were created like this.

Most died.
But occasionally one survives long enough to become a cult artifact — and Dobbscoin actually fits that pattern pretty well given the SubGenius theme.

The upside..
If Dobbscoin was generated this way, that's actually good:

It means the chain probably uses standard Bitcoin consensus rules, which makes upgrading to a modern core much easier.

Coins that added weird consensus hacks are much harder to modernize.

The Dobbscoin FREE SLACK Faucet is ONLINE
https://dobbscoin.info/faucet

EndCiv is responsible for setting it up, as is the case for most webpage related chaos. It's currently spitting out 1 (BOB) every 12hrs and has minot abuse tech built in to keep Slack thieves and the OverPop from bleeding the wallet dry.

You can create a NO KYC (BOB) wallet at https://subgenius.finance/bobbank with just your username and password and it'll create an account/address for your user, you can then send (BOB) to and from. If you don't have a self-custody wallet running on your own machine, this is a good but temporary place to stash'yer (BOB).

SubGenius.Finance / The BOB BANK
Last post by BtcBob - Aug 28, 2026, 10:45 PM
I know.. zero custody wallets are gay. but this will at least offer new initiates something to interact with. Folks can send some (BOB) there.. send it back to themselves someplace else.. maybe TipBob someone.

🏦 Introducing The (BOB) Bank
The Dobbscoin Treasury Node
-Praise "Bob"

Brothers, Sisters, and Seekers of the Slack

Welcome to the BOB Bank, the official savings and transaction service of Dobbscoin (BOB):
The "Official Crypto-Currency of the Church of the SubGenius."

The (BOB) BANK: https://subgenius.finance/bobbank

The (BOB) Bank is a place to store, move, and manage your Dobbscoin with the convenience of a 1970's terminal banking interface.

Like all of the (BOB) Dobbscoin services and the Bob Bank was designed to be to be useful, transparent, and honest about what it is — and what it is not. It's basically a web wallet on a Dobbscoin node with a desktop and mobile interface for ease and convenience, it is not where you should store any quantity of (BOB) for very long as we're builders and things often crash.. but it's fairly secure and we usually salvage everything when it crashes, so ..there's that

Remember: The First Commandment of crypto:
NOT YOUR KEYS — NOT YOUR COINS

What is the BOB Bank?

The BOB Bank is a custodial wallet and transaction system for Dobbscoin.

It allows you to:
• Deposit BOB to a personal account
• Send BOB to other addresses
• Track balances and confirmations
• View transaction history
• Receive deposits automatically after confirmations
• Use both desktop and mobile interfaces
• Participate in the growing SubGenius financial ecosystem

It is designed to function like a simple online bank — but without pretending to be magic. Behind the scenes, every deposit and withdrawal is handled by the Dobbscoin network itself. Live on a hot wallet.

---

Who Might Use It?

The BOB Bank is especially useful for:
• New users who want an easy place to start
• Community members participating in events or games
• Traders and collectors moving small to moderate amounts
• Faucet users and reward programs
• SubGenius.Finance services that need automated balances
• Anyone who values convenience over running a full node

It is not required.
It is not mandatory.
It is simply a tool.

Use it when it makes your life easier.
Use your own wallet when you need full sovereignty.

---

How It Works (Plain English)
1. You create an account (No KYC or Identifiable information required)
2. The system assigns you a deposit address on user creation.
3. When coins arrive and confirm on the blockchain
  • Your balance updates automatically, and you can send coins anytime thereafter.

A background process continuously scans the blockchain and credits confirmed deposits while transactions are broadcast directly to the network.

Why It's Secure
The BOB Bank uses:
• Server-side wallet isolation
• Local RPC access only (no public wallet exposure)
• Secure session handling
• CSRF protection on transactions
• Confirmation-based deposit crediting
• Regular automated balance scanning
• Segregated configuration outside the web root
• Principle of least privilege for services

We do not pretend risk does not exist.

The Honest Warning — Read This

If you do not control the private keys, you do not control your coins.

This service holds coins on your behalf.

That means:

• You can't trust the operator
• You can't trust the infrastructure
• You can't trust the software

We take that responsibility seriously — but we will never tell you it is risk-free.
For large holdings or long-term storage:
Run your own wallet.
Always.

What the BOB Bank Is NOT

It is not:
• An exchange
• A promise of profit
• A guarantee against loss
• A replacement for self-custody
• A centralized authority over your money

It is infrastructure. Nothing more.
Nothing less.

---

Why We Built It

Because communities need tools.
Because adoption requires usability.
Because culture becomes real when it has systems behind it.

Try It

The bank is now live at:
https://subgenius.finance/bobbank

Create an account.
Make a small deposit.
Send a transaction.
Watch the confirmations roll in.

Kick the tires.

---

Final Word

The BOB Bank is an offering — not a commandment.

Use it.
Ignore it.
Improve it.
Audit it.
Break it and tell us how.

That is how real systems grow.

(BOB) DOBBSCOIN — Canonical Facts
Source-of-truth reference for the chain itself. If a claim out there in the wild conflicts with what's in this post, trust the post and verify against the cited source paths.

Style — "Bob" vs (BOB)

  • "Bob" (with quotes) = J.R. "Bob" Dobbs, the SubGenius clip-art deity. Always quoted. He is a man (a salesman, technically).
  • (BOB) (with parens) = Dobbscoin, the cryptocurrency. Always parenthesized. It is a coin.
  • Never swap them. "Bob" mines (BOB). (BOB) is not "Bob". The distinction is load-bearing.

Style — voice
The project speaks in Church-of-the-SubGenius parody-religion register. Vocabulary that lives here natively:

  • "Praise 'Bob'"
  • "Slack" — the metaphysical commodity (BOB) supposedly monetizes
  • "The Conspiracy" — backronym (C)liques (O)f (N)ormals (S)ecretly (P)lanning (I)nsidious (R)ituals (A)imed at (C)ontrolling (Y)ou
  • "Pinkboys" / "Normals" / "Mediocretins" / "Glorps" — the unawakened
  • "Backed By Nothing, Powered By Everything" — the official tagline
  • "Where Culture Becomes Capital" — current release branding
  • "MONETIZED SLACK"
  • "ETERNAL SALVATION OR TRIPLE YOUR MONEY BACK" — legacy slogan from the 2014 ANN
  • "Devival" — community gatherings
  • "X-Day" — perpetually deferred end-of-the-world; reschedule annually

On namedropping

Namedrop freely — but be honest about what each name is on the hook for. The GitHub contributor graph for dobbscoin-source lists upstream Bitcoin Core devs inherited from the fork — Wladimir van der Laan (laanwj), Gavin Andresen, Pieter Wuille (sipa), Gregory Maxwell (gmaxwell), Luke Dashjr (luke-jr), Matt Corallo (TheBlueMatt), Michael Ford (fanquake), and many more. Their commits are real and their code is in the binary, but none of them wrote (BOB)-specific code. The Bitcoin-Core lineage is the foundation; the (BOB)-specific consensus changes (KGW, DigiShield, 2-min target, flat-1.5 cap) were added on top by community devs.

The disclaimer to keep nearby whenever you namedrop: The GitHub contributor leaderboard is misleading — it inherits upstream Bitcoin Core history from the 2014 fork. Cite diffs, not names. Names appear in this thread for accurate attribution of upstream work; (BOB)'s consensus diff is community work on top of that foundation.

The one defensible direct namedrop for (BOB) itself is Matt "BlueMatt" Corallo — not as author of the (BOB) diff, but as progenitor of the generator that struck the genesis block. See "Origin" below.

Selling vs trading

(BOB) is not for sale. It is for trade.

  • Don't say "buy (BOB)" — say "trade for (BOB)" or "acquire (BOB)"
  • Don't say "sell" — say "trade away" or "exchange"
  • Always include NOT FINANCIAL ADVISORS. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. near any price/market discussion

Origin — Minted Via Coingen.io (Jan 2014)

(BOB)'s genesis is January 2014, the same month Matt "BlueMatt" Corallo opened Coingen.io — a paid altcoin-generator that forked Bitcoin Core 0.10 from a parameter form (name, ticker, icon, scrypt-vs-SHA256, block target, initial subsidy, halving interval) for ~0.01–0.05 BTC and shipped Linux + Windows binaries. Corallo sold Coingen to Shawn Wilkinson ("Super3") shortly after launch — citing "0 time to make this better" — and it was later open-sourced as super3/coingen on GitHub.

The shape of dobbscoin-source at genesis is exactly what Coingen stamped out: a clean Bitcoin Core 0.10 fork, scrypt PoW, P2PKH/P2SH unchanged, v1-only tx, stock upstream halving curve. All the (BOB)-specific consensus code (KGW at block 13579, DigiShield at 31597, 2-min target at 68425, flat-1.5 cap at 951753) was added later by community devs, not present at fork. That's consistent with — and best explained by — a Coingen origin.

So the honest framing: (BOB) was struck on BlueMatt's lathe. He's the progenitor of the generator, not the author of the chain. Subsequent consensus changes (KGW/DigiShield/flat-subsidy) are community work on top.

Common false claims to avoid

  • ❌ "21,000,000 max supply" — WRONG. No hard cap exists in the code. The 21M number was a marketing line from the 2014 ANN that was never true post-block-951753. The chain is mildly inflationary by design.
  • ❌ "10-minute blocks" / "60-second blocks" — WRONG. Target spacing is 2 minutes. chainparams.cpp:125 shows nTargetSpacing = 10 * 60 but that's the legacy V1 retarget value that DiffMode V4 (pow.cpp:474-478) overrides at block 68425. Verify by reading pow.cpp:561-579.
  • ❌ "Halving on schedule, like Bitcoin" — WRONG. Halvings were capped at block 951752 (main.cpp:1304); after that the subsidy is hardcoded to 1.5 (BOB)/block forever.
  • ❌ "Tx version 2 rejected; this is a feature" — accurate but misleading. Honest framing: chain stayed pre-BIP68/CSV — no relative timelocks, no native Lightning support, simpler verification. Not a virtue, just a design point.

Inflation math (for reference)

1.5 (BOB) per block × 30 blocks/hour = 45 (BOB)/hour ≈ 394,200 (BOB)/year. Time to reach MAX_MONEY = 10B: ~25,000 years. Practically uncapped.

Difficulty Retarget History

Mainnet diffmode timeline (src/pow.cpp:561-579):

BlockDiffModeAlgorithm
0–13578V1Bitcoin-style 2016-block retarget
13579+V2Kimoto Gravity Well — labeled "BOB's Wormh0le (KGW)" in source (pow.cpp:298)
31597+V3DigiShield (DigiByte's asymmetric retarget), 10-min target
68425+V4DigiShield, 2-min target — current regime

Kimoto Gravity Well is Kimoto's retarget algorithm originally written for Megacoin (2013). DigiShield is the asymmetric retarget invented by sshbell and the DigiByte team for DigiByte (2014). DigiShield's amplitude filter (actual − target)/8 plus asymmetric bounds is what stopped multi-pool drive-by attacks: difficulty can drop fast when a hash-bomb leaves but rises slowly when one arrives. (Both algorithms predate (BOB) — they were vendored in by community devs after launch, not original work.)

See pow.cpp:443-470 for V3 and pow.cpp:474-558 for V4.

Build Dependencies (the parts modern guides skip)

(BOB) needs Berkeley DB 4.8.30 for wallet storage (Bitcoin Core 0.10 wallet format). Modern distros only ship 5.x/6.x, which won't open old wallet.dat files. Build script:

DOBBSCOIN_ROOT=$(pwd)
BDB_PREFIX="${DOBBSCOIN_ROOT}/db4"
mkdir -p $BDB_PREFIX

wget 'http://download.oracle.com/berkeley-db/db-4.8.30.NC.tar.gz'

make install

cd $DOBBSCOIN_ROOT

./configure LDFLAGS="-L${BDB_PREFIX}/lib/" CPPFLAGS="-I${BDB_PREFIX}/include/"
make -j$(nproc)

Source: dobbscoin-source/doc/build-unix.md:143-169. The static db4 build is so the daemon embeds it — no runtime .so lookup, no version-mismatch errors.

ADDENDUM. #69 WAS NEVER LOST. IT HAS BEEN PLAYING INSIDE #1769 SINCE 2020.

The number in the title of this thread is wrong. It is now 123.

The correction did not come from a crawl, an archive, or a disc.
It came from an email. A listener read the appeal and wrote back with one sentence:

Quote from: Chasing Ghosts#69 was rebroadcast as #1769.

It was. The evidence had been sitting in this archive the whole time, in the show's own notes, and nobody had read those against the list of the missing. The blurb for #1769 opens: "This MIGHT be the greatest Hour of Slack episode of all time -- and it was a lost episode until this week! It's our sixty-ninth episode, from late 1986." It goes on to thank Rev. Rasfeld for recording it off the air in Dallas, and then keeping the tape for thirty-four years.

So the audio was held here, playable, all along. The show was filed under 2020 and the hole was filed under 1987, and nothing joined them.

Two things follow. #69 is now marked as surviving inside #1769, and its card links straight to the episode carrying it. Its year has also been corrected to 1986, on the authority of the man who made it.

The tip was worth a sweep: every note of every episode that has audio, read for references to episodes that do not. It produced exactly one more. #275, from March 1991, survives crossed into #1692 -- a 2018 show built on the original cassette. Two further candidates were examined and rejected. A "#274" proved to be a person's title and not an episode at all. A "#287" turns out to be eight minutes sitting inside #1402, which is a fragment and not a recovery, and will not be recorded as one.

That is the entire yield. The remaining 123 are not hiding in the notes. They were not rerun, and no one has yet found a tape.

Thanks are owed to SCRUBGENIUS Anti-MEMBER Chasing Ghosts for writing in.
Fifteen minutes of his attention closed one hole directly, and caused the second.
